May be because I am german, I didn’t get the words “forum” or “support” right.

A Forum, especially when it comes to software, to me was a place, where users meet to help each other. If you are a new user you ask many questions, may be 16 are a lot, some of them stupid, some not so stupid. And if you after some time of using are a skilled user you answer questions. I now learned – this one is different from the ones I know.

Quite the same with “Support”. For around 25 years now, I am in techsupport – digital-audio, post-production, … The rule is to listen carefully, what the customer is asking for, trying hard to understand his problem, and answering every question, even if he is asking how to tune his guitar. The only negative answer that is allowed is “sorry, I don’t know that.”

May be you can tell ma a forum, where users try to help each others. I really need to know the names of the two or three files. I am searching for hours now.

May be you can raise a paid support, where users can ask every question in the jargon they are used to use, and without being in fear to be kikked off everything when after hours of searching and reading they might get a little more direct, reading from “techsupport” that they have to read and search.

I am quite sure that I would have without any problem paid five times as much for techsupport as I paied for the software. May be this could be a deal. And may be this would also filter those who ask, because they are to lazy to read.

Sorry again – and please keep in mind that some misunderstandings lie in the fact that I am not a native english speaker.

    Thank you
    Niko

No worries Nikolaus! I appreciate your concern and, as I noted in my other thread, we aren’t trying to make things harder for you at all. I appreciate your awareness of our policies and agree with you that the language barrier is making things harder than normal.

We unfortunately do not have a forum for customizations at this time, though have been discussing making one very soon. I’m sorry about these limitations Nikolaus!

If you need a lot of custom development work, we have a list of well-reviewed developers for hire here → http://m.tri.be/18k1

    I hope that helps!

    Sincerely,
    George

    Thank you,

I already tried to get in contact with some of the companies in the list, but it seems they too aren’t very interested, because I just need to know one or two file names that have the wrong links in the list when we choose the calendar in mobile mode and click on a day.

I searched the whole system for “tribe_get_event_link” to change it to “tribe_get_event_website_url” but unfortunately every entry I found and changed didn’t lead to success like it did when doing the same for the desktop list and calendar views. The teamers-guide and searchin for keywords i could guess in this forum also didn’t get me much further. Same on Google and on some Apple and developer forums I usually take part of. Ok – I now have some information, that I do not need now, but may need in the future.

So may be the expression used for the links is different and may be I find some hours time to guess the expression that could have been used for the two links on the headline and the logo I have to change.

Yes, it would really be nice to have a user-forum.

    Thank you – Greetings
    Niko

Hey Niko, I’m sorry about the difficulties with customizations and we agree with you that a user-sharing forum would be great. We’re working on it and just need to make sure we do it correctly, you know? Lots of things can go wrong with launching a forum like that…

But stay tuned! If we add a forum like that to this site it should be quite visible and you’d be able to post there any time.

Until then, best of luck with your site and customizations 🙂

    George
