I got a report today that a page on our site is no longer working. The page presents a WP (native) video playlist, but the video screen itself is simply blank. I know for a fact that it had been working fine for many months. I’ve done nothing on our site related to videos for weeks except that I recalled there was a TEC issue with some oEmbed code. (In fact, I got bit by the problem myself, but when I applied your latest update, everything seemed copacetic.) Well, in trying to figure out what’s gone wrong with my WP video playlist, I noticed that all the videos we’re using (very old ones) are in flv format. On a hunch, I inserted another video in mp4 format, and voila, it worked again–at least for that video (the first one in the list). When I try to access one in flv format, it’s a no-go. Is it possible that the new and improved oEmbed code you released has hosed the WP video playlist when it tries to play flv format videos?

    Hey Mark,

Thanks for reaching out to us! Hopefully the oembed issue has been resolved so I don’t think the issue with the flv videos relates to our codebase.

Anyway, you can try this cleanup script that will delete any stored oembeds from the WP database. Be sure to follow the instructions noted before the code:

Also, if the video player is actually embedded but the video itself is not loading then I don0t think this relates with an oembed issue (caused or not by our plugin).

    Best,
    Nico
