We are using the Avada theme with Events Calendar PRO. The layout of the main events page is nice, but there is nowhere to control the number of words in the preview snippet. We have registration buttons that appear as nice buttons on each individual event page, but they appear as shortcode on the main events page list.
The main events page can be found at ebenezerumc.org/events
I’ve uploaded a screen shot of the main page showing shortcode and that same event showing the button.
Using the “read more” function doesn’t work to keep the code from displaying on the main page. Nor does adding more line breaks.

Good afternoon James and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I would love to help you with this topic.

The easiest way to tackle this would be to use the “Excerpt” field in each event

    excerpt

If you want something more automated, you will likely need to dig in to how Avada handles excerpts (automated ones in this case).

Here is an interesting read on that topic: http://smallenvelop.com/limit-post-excerpt-length-in-wordpress/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

AHHHH! Can’t believe it was that easy. That did the trick beautifully. Thank you for the basic WordPress lesson today! 😉
