I’ve asked to be notified when new events are published, have put that in the settings, but it is not happening. Would you explain how to fix? This is important to me, as I’ve set it to publish automatically, but would like to be notified just in case there’s an issue.
The blog is New York Irish Arts, newyorkirisharts.com

I’m not sure I understand the WordPress version, Plugin version thing below. The Events Calendar is version 2.0.11. The Events Calendar: Community Events is Version 1.0.5. The Events Calendar PRO is 2.0.11.

    Hi Gwen,

Is this the Community Events plugin that you are having issues with notifications?

Yes, that is it– I put in the settings to be notified, and am not. I’ll double check that I put it in the right place…

I just checked, and that’s the one where I definitely put in to be notified, but am not being notified. 🙁

    Hi Gwen,

I’m going to move this over to the Community Events forum and Casey should be able to help you there.

    Regards,
    Jonah

    Gwen,
Sorry to hear that you’re having troubles. Are any of the other email notifications from WordPress working (ex: new user registration, comment notifications, etc)?

Yes, the other notifications are working.

    Gwen,
Sorry to be so verbose about this, but are you using the same email address for Community notifications as you’re using for the WordPress admin email?

Yes. I do have two gmail accounts. I’m not being notified on either of them about community events. Also, under “settings,” it asks what email to let me know of new notifications, so shouldn’t it go to that regardless? I mean, why ask to specify an email if it doesn’t matter?

I put down [email protected]. but again, for the record, I’m not being notified on either gmail account, nor on my comcast account.

    Gwen,
I asked because sometimes if your server is not configured correctly and you’ve specified an email address that’s hosted on the same server, then you can run into issues with emails not being delivered.

However, with an external Gmail address that shouldn’t matter.

Stand by while I investigate further.

    Gwen,
I was able to successfully verify that I’m getting email notifications in my local testing environment. However, I did notice that the notifications were showing up in my spam folder. So, you might verify that they’re not getting marked as spam.

Let me know if that helps!

    Gwen,
Thanks for confirming that this got you sorted. Unless you disagree, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.

We really appreciate your support and please let us know if you need anything else in the future. If you find yourself with a few minutes and would be so kind as to give us a “Works” rating or a positive star voting on the WordPress.org repo (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar/), or even a shoutout to your followers on Facebook or Twitter, it would mean a lot to us. Thanks again for using the plugin.
