ParticipantHi,
I’m using this plugin on 2 sites.
On the first site http://warenthin-test.de (my developing site) the plugin works fine with multiple facebook-sites.
On the second site http://warenthin.de (productive) the import with same settings failed. When I tested it with an special ID the following error message appeared:
The following errors have occurred during importing images:
Es wurde keine gültige URL übermittelt.
— in english
Please note that this does not effect importing of associated events unless noted.
Either the event with ID 1413265625555345 does not exist, is marked as private on Facebook or we couldn’t reach the Facebook API
Please note that as a result, no events were successfully imported. The following errors have occurred during importing images:
A valid URL was not provided.
Please note that this does not effect importing of associated events unless noted. Can you please help me?
Thanks, Thomas

ParticipantHello schulzmischke,
I’m a little confused, so pardon me if I ask a few questions.
First, I’m seeing the event you indicated on both your developing site as well as your production site. We’re you able to successfully import it then? Did something change since you made your post?
Another initial thought I had was perhaps it has to do with your Facebook credentials (Facebook App ID and Secret). Did you get that entered correctly on the production site?
Let’s start with that and go from there.

ParticipantHallo Julie,
no, the problem istn’t solved. Because I need the calendar, I have imported the events at my develpment-site and transfered it manually via wordpress-importer.
For your question abourt the Facebook credentials, I have entered these data exactly the same on both sites, via copy an paste.
If needed, I can create a temporary admin, account on both sites , so you can check.September 11, 2013 at 4:15 pm #65553Julie Kuehl
ParticipantHello again schulzmischke,
I apologize for my confusion. Thank you for the clarification.
Perhaps admin access would be helpful. Could you send the information over in a private message? And I should ask, are your developing and production sites on the same server? If not, is there any difference between the two that you know of?

ParticipantHi Julie,
I have added the requested informations via private reply. Hope, you can help, because I find Facebook-import very helpful and the workaround via testsite is very anoying. Thanks,

ParticipantHi again schulzmischke,
I think I found something to try. There are two areas where Facebook usernames/IDs can be added:
Events > Import: Facebook
This area is intended to import single events. A one-time, bring-it-over from Facebook import.Events > Settings > Facebook
This area is intended to import from Facebook Pages and to keep bringing in information on an ongoing basis. Putting single events here will cause problems. You seem to have several usernames/IDs entered in the Events > Settings > Facebook area. Can you verify that these are all for Pages and not individual events. If they are for individual events, can you move those over to the Events > Import: Facebook area?
Give that a try and see if that makes a difference. We were able to get the imports to work in test environments, so that’s about as much as I can offer. But please let me know how it goes!

ParticipantHi Julie,
I’ve checked it, the IDs in the Events > Settings > Facebook -Area are Page-IDs.
The mentioned way via Events > Import: Facebook have I checked before. With this usage I got the error message mentioned in the first entry.
Only using the page IDs created no output at all.
But you and your filks can test it by yourself. Rhe admin account I created is valid for both sites.– Thomas

ParticipantHi Julie,
thanks for your efforts, but you can close this thread. I have moved my productive site to the virtual server where also the development site resides.
How everything works fine. I will delete the temporary accounts on both sites. Thanks,

ParticipantHi Thomas,
I’m glad you found a solution. My next guess was that it may have been server related, and you seemed to have taken care of that.
Thank you for your patience. If there’s anything else that we can help you with, please don’t hesitate to ask.
