Matt
ParticipantI am trying to sell tickets to a concert event. How can the employees scanning the ticket at the door know if the ticket has already been used? Scanning a checked-in or non-checked-in QR code has the same result, it just takes the employee to the Attendees list but no confirmation either way.
Are the employees expected to have a laptop and search the order number or security code to see if the ticket is already checked in?
Any way for an already checked in QR Code go to some “Already Checked In” page or prompt?

MemberGood evening Matt and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. That’s a great question, technically the link provided by the QR code looks something like yourwebsite.com?event_qr_code=1&ticket_id=752&event_id=748 and you are right, all it really does is bring the employee to the attendee list on the front-end (unless that employee happens to be logged to your website).
So in other words, as long as your employee:
- Has an account on your website with a role that allows him to access the backend for your events
- Is logged in to your website prior to scanning the QR code
The check-in will occur automatically (if not checked-in already) OR the following message will appear “The ticket with ID 752 has already been checked in.”.
This also works on a mobile device. So the good news is that it is totally feasible. As an alternative, a lot of venue owners simply print out the attendee list and cross out check-ins in an old school way (pen and paper).
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantI’m with you on all that except I do not get the “The ticket with ID 752 has already been checked in.”. All I get is “The ticket with ID 752 was checked in” over and over, regardless of how many times I scan the QR code. That’s the message on the initial check in and all other check-ins.

MemberHey Matt,
Thank you for your answer.
The message in question appears at the top of the page next to the Attendees title (and could be easy to miss).
Just to be extra sure, as a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ? (following the instructions found in the link)
Have a great day!
