New users are confused by redirect to Dashboard

Hello! I have had some problems with new users registering an account, then logging in, and instead of seeing the “Add” form at /events/community/add, upon login following their registration they are redirected to the dashboard. This is confusing information overload for the vast majority of people and they don’t understand where they are. I need new users to stay on the main site (/add and /list only) and not be redirected to the dashboard.

You can reproduce this by going to http://challengeat.ca/evenements/communaute/add then click on the “Inscription” link (Registration) and following the process to create a new account. You’ll see that once you log in, you’re taken to the Dashboard instead of the public Add Event page. Not User Friendly.

To allow you to do that you can checkout this snippet, which will allow you to redirect users both after the login and after the register. You just need to edit and place them on your theme’s functions.php file:
