I’ve been thinking of switching from All-in-one-Events calendar to TEC, but have some issues:

1. Can I set a starting date for showing the calendar events? I don’t mean the starting date of event itself, but the starting date of the whole calendar when the user goes to the events page. For example, we have a county fair which is from July 23 thru August 1. We don’t need to show dates prior to July 23. Is there a way to always have the calendar start on July 23 when a user goes to the events page/calendar?

2. How can I allow a user to filter events in the calendar view by tags or categories. I see in some of the demo sites you can do that, but I’m not seeing where to set that up.

And judging that you bought the Filter Bar add-on you saw how to accomplish the second one.
