Need to update all recurring end date (of course it's urgent ;))

Hello All,

I’m using Event Pro to manage the lessons of my sports clubs. We provide a lot of lessons per weeks, over 20 in different location. Therefore I’ve used the recurrence functionality and I had to put an end date (end of June 2014) to the recurrence settings. As a result, the plugin created a lot of record (over 2100).

But now I’m facing an urgent challenge as I have to update all the course to end of June 2014, so how can I update the end date of the recurrence for all events to a given date efficiently without going record by record ?

I’m not afraid of MySQL at all 🙂 So if you have the pattern of a query to point me to the right direction I can handle the change. But at the moment, it’s just not manageable through the UI even using the filters.

Thank you in advanced, I’m having everybody pushing me to find a solution as no event are obviously displayed and the new season starts… next week 😉

Hi, Pierre-Benoît. It certainly sounds daunting when you think about 2100 events!

If I’m understanding you correctly, I think that the solution may be for you to simply go to the initial event in each sequence and update them all from that one. To help you find it, you can use the EDIT EVENT link, either in the page or in the admin toolbar, and that should bring you right into them from the frontend.

N.B. Be sure to click “All Events” after updating the event, that way it’s propagated forward. (If you’re bothered by the grey shading that overlays the dialog, you can use this temporary fix until we resolve it in an upcoming patch release: https://theeventscalendar.com/recurring-events-dialog-fix/)

Let me know if that will work for you. If not, we’ll try to find another solution.
