ParticipantI’m looking to get something done which may or may not be possible. But it seems like I’m close, and yet, there are some bugs happening.
My client has events that occur everyday. OK, no problem, we can set a reoccurring event to daily at the allotted time. However, it actually occurs TWICE per day, everyday. Once at 10:15am and once at 2:00pm.
So, I went ahead and set up the initial day and 10:15 time, and then a “series” to be daily at the same time. I followed that by adding another series that repeated it daily at a different time, the 2:00 time. See the first screen shot.
When I view the calendar, it does appear on the monthly calendar twice a day (except for the first day, but I can live with that). See the second screenshot.
But the problem is, when you click through on either of them, they BOTH are showing the 2:00 time. Nothing indicates that it ever happens at 10:15.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Is there a way to use the same entry to show multiple times in a day?

KeymasterHi Henry,
Thanks for reaching out! I did some testing on my end, but I was not able to recreate the issue with only one time showing – when I click or hover on either event on the same day, I get the correct time (see screenshot). Is this what you are referring to? Can you please send me a screenshot of what you’re seeing (or send me a link if possible – I took a look at your site but did not see the calendar in your screenshots).
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantHi, Jennifer.
Sure, here is the link: http://www.longislandaquarium.com/events/
As you’ll see, all the “African Penguin Talk & Feed” events show up as 2:00pm, whereas the first one each day should be the 10:15am one. When you click through to the “event detail” page, and you see the “Reoccurring event (See All)” indicator, hovering over that also shows as though the events are in for both being 2:00pm.
It’s encouraging to see that you didn’t have the same issue. Now we just have to get to the bottom of why my page isn’t behaving. Did it look like I set up the event correctly? (See screenshot from previous post.)

KeymasterHi Henry,
Thanks for sending the link, I see what you mean…It does look like you’ve set everything up correctly (I did mine the same as your). I’ve been doing some more testing on my end, but I still haven’t been able to recreate the issue. I also checked our internal bug reports but don’t see anything related to this issue.
I did notice on your site that the list view is working. Can you try testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins and see if this is still happening when you have a default theme enabled and all other plugins disabled? If you prefer to do this in a testing site, WP Staging will let you create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks,
Jennifer

Interesting! I hadn’t noticed that.

I apologize. I could have sworn I did that before I posted! But now we’re getting somewhere.
The plugins didn’t affect it. The theme DID. The default theme showed the right times, and it showed a tool-tip sort of thing on hover that I wasn’t getting before.
By virtue of trial and error, I found that this was not part of my theme file’s body tag:
<?php body_class(); ?>That echoes in classes on the body and, apparently, that mattered. 🙂 Thanks for your help! It seem to be working now.

KeymasterHi Henry,
I’m glad to hear you got it figured out, and really nice work finding the solution! Thanks for posting it here as well so that other users that run into a similar issue might be able to benefit from it!
I’ll go ahead and close out this thread, but please feel free to open a new one if you run into any other issues.
Thanks,
Jennifer
