Right now I am pulling 7 different calendar feeds in with this plugin. Each one is for a different sports team. The team members and team family’s want to subscribe to the feeds from our site and your calendar. They need a button to click on to get the feed to automatically update on their phone/computer. Each of the 7 calendars could have as many as 50-60 people subscribed to it. It needs to be easy to click on and use for the users. Adding this would solve my mail problem right now.

To give more detail behind the complete picture of what I am trying to accomplish here is more.

I bought the import module and if I can make this work I will buy the pro version immediately.

I am using this to manage a sports club schedule. Each team has their own calendar. Maybe you can help me understand the best way to set this up. Here is my criteria. Maybe some custom fields?

2 arenas for the teams to play home games. I need a specific person to schedule what teams get to use each arena in approximately 1 hour time slots. Starting very early in the am and going pretty late. There are probably 12-14 slots per day per arenas. There is no charge for these slots so no purchasing is needed they just need to be scheduled.

14 different teams need to be scheduled in those slots. All this person scheduling looks at is which of the 14 team managers gets the arena slots each day. This scheduling is done ahead of time and spans months at a time with some small regular adjustments.

Of those 14 teams they all have managers that do the schedules for their respective teams. Home Games, away games(different venue), practice, gym workout, etc. Each team will have their own calendar. Once a team manager gets their slots they assign games, practices, etc. to each slot

I set up all the venues to include the two home arena’s and the away arena’s and anyplace the teams play at.

The team that needs to be scheduled may not be the only team for that Venue. What is my best way to do teams? I guess I can add tags for the teams but that may confuse people. It would be great if the teams could be added in a field that the person scheduling the event could select. Is that possible? We use Gravity forms for other things on the site. If I create teams is there a way to pull a list into the new event section?

If it is possible to add fields I would like to also add home and away and the final score after the event is over.

I hope you have a way for me to accomplish this.

    Hi Ted,

    Good questions!

Need a subscribe to calendar button on my calendars please help.

All the calendar views include an export button the downloads an .ics file for visitors to import into a calendar. While it will not push updates to the calendars, the calendar also includes an RSS feed (/events/feed) that visitors can import into an RSS reader to subscribe to your calendar feed.

The team that needs to be scheduled may not be the only team for that Venue. What is my best way to do teams?

Venues can be host to any number of events but you’re right, an event can only be assigned to a single venue. Another way to do it would be to use the Organizers feature for teams and assign multiple teams to the event. You can add as many Organizers as you’d like for any single event.

If it is possible to add fields I would like to also add home and away and the final score after the event is over.

Yes, Events Calendar PRO does indeed have an Additional Fields feature that would allow you to input the score of a match after it happens, and it will display on the event’s page.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!
    Geoff

any idea when and if you plan top add the ics feed so it pushes updates out to people that subscribe to a calendar? I know you have RSS but most iphones and android phones do not work with those easily.

    Hi Ted,

Sorry, I do not have a date or timeframe for that. It’s not currently slated for an upcoming release as far as I can see at the moment.

    Thanks,
    Geoff
