ParticipantHi, I’ve installed the Pro and community plugin on my site, I have around 12,000 events that I moved from my old site. I’m currently using the latest updates of all plugins, WordPress version, and the theme that I use (GoodNews – http://themes.momizat.com/?theme=goodnews). The server is using Amazon Web Service, EC2 m3.large.
The site is really slow, considering the server I’m using. Strange thing is the WordPress control panel is a lot faster than the front-end, is this because the theme I’m using?
Can you please investigate what’s wrong with it.
Thank you.

MemberHi Samiaji,
I see from the system information you shared (thanks for doing that!) that you upgraded from 3.9.3 – I’m curious, did the slowdown take hold after this update?
If so, we’re aware of some frontend performance issues that were inadvertently introduced and are actively working on a solution that we’ll roll out as soon as possible to resolve it.

ParticipantHi Barry
Thank you for your response. Well actually I did upgrade from 3.9.3, but the loading speed was actually when using 3.9.3, I was hoping that by upgrading I would get a quicker speed. Do you have a tips and trick to improve site speed from your plugin point of view?
Have you tested my site, it’s quite slow isn’t it.
Pls let me know if you can find any solution in regards to speed.
Thank you.

MemberHi Samiaji,
I definitely see it’s a little less snappy than might be ideal.
With 12,000 events you may need to make use of caching (have you enabled month view caching, via the Events → Settings → Display screen) at various different levels to really squeeze the most out of available server resources – object and query caching in particular can be very effective.
Minimizing the number of events shown per day in month view is also a sensible step but it looks like this is already down to 3 events per day in your case, which is pretty reasonable.
All in all, caching is likely to be the best way forward here – though we do have some performance related changes in the pipeline that will roll out in a forthcoming release.
