John
ParticipantI had a recurring event (every 2 days for 2 weeks), I wanted to see what the sticky in calendar view did so i checked it and clicked update. Popup box asked if I wanted to apply action to this event or all. I clicked only this event, then my site locked up, checked my server usage and sql was getting hammered. When it finally stopped I have 1233 identical events on the same day of the first event.
Great bug, obviously there is no way I could have created these manually or double clicked anything etc.
I am not going to try and replicate as I dont want 1000s of more junk events, the steps above are how I got it, a problem has to be present as I am now looking at 1233 events that are unwanted.
Any ideas how I can remove these without doing it manually, I don’t want to wipe my install and I also dont want to manually trash this number of events.
Thanks,
JHealy

MemberHi John,
I’m sorry to hear that: can you confirm which version of our plugin(s) you are using?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Barry,
Glad you confirm it is a bug as I couldn’t see how it would be just me and no way I could have created this many mistakenly.Do you have any suggestions to my question about how I can resolve the 1233 junk events I now have?
Regards,
JHealy

MemberWe’ll have this fixed hopefully in our next maintenance release; in the meantime in order to deal with these unwanted events could you view the list of events (admin side) and change the number of events shown on the screen (using the setting in the screen options pulldown) to a number of hundred events and basically page through so that you can bulk select as many of these events as possible and trash them in just a few operations?
You might still have an odd number you need to deal with individually but it would nonetheless greatly reduce the total amount of effort.
Thanks!

ParticipantOkay. I did ask the question in another forum post with a bug but the answer was a little less than definitive but as we are talking about maintenance releases here again can you tell me when your maintenance releases are due? You said previously monthly, does this mean start of the month, middle, end? It would be good for users to know what your schedule is so we don’t have a complete unknown timeline for when bugs will be resolved.
Thanks,
JHealy

MemberIt’s best to consider our monthly release cycle as a guideline 🙂
Unforeseen issues and the complexity of managing a stable of interlocking plugins would make it very hard for us to commit, for instance, to a release no later than the 5th of every month – so while we do indeed aim to turn out releases on a monthly basis it is not always feasible to do so and, conversely, there have been times where they have been more frequent or where we issue hot-fixes.
I hope that better explains the position with regards to the maintenance cycle – and will go ahead and close this thread. If there’s anything else we can help with of course please do go ahead and create new threads as required.
Thanks!
