    Hi,

I have searched and had no luck so far so I thought i’d post in here. Sorry if it has been asked already.

I run a training company; we run one day courses, two day courses, three day courses and five day courses. Does TEC have the ability to reflect this on tickets and events? For example. a three day course might run 08:00 – 17:00 on Monday 08/05/2017, 08:00 – 17:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday (9th and 10th respectively).

Is this something that TEC can handle? A person will buy a “ticket” for the course – which will be over the multiple days and not have to buy x separate ones?

    Regards,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for taking the time to reach out! No worries–I’d be more than happy to help clarify your options for this type of setup here!

For creating multiple-day events with our plugins, you have two options:

    • You can create an event that spans the entire range of days with no gaps, specifying the opening and closing times for each day in the event description (or elsewhere). This option is less precise, but it works for both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO, and tickets can be easily created for the event.
    • You can create an event series using Events Calendar PRO so that your event repeats for the exact set of dates and times that you specify. This option will display with more accurate information on your main calendar views, but event series functionality is only supported with Events Calendar PRO. Additionally, recurring event tickets are not yet supported with Event Tickets or Event Tickets Plus, so tickets that are created for event series will apply to the entire series regardless of which day the ticket is purchased for. This may not be an issue for single events that span multiple days, but it can be problematic if you’re selling tickets for, say, different occurrences of an event that happens once a week.

Does that help to shed some light on your options here? Let me know if you should have any questions about either approach! Cheers, and thanks again for stopping by! 🙂

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. So just to clarify – if I run a course over 3 days
(3 separate days, ie Monday in week 1, Wednesday in week 2 and Friday in
week), I can set the event up as recurring event over those 3 particular
days. If people \”purchase\” the course, it will automatically enroll them
onto the 3 days and take stock from the availability. I don\’t want people
to be able to book D2 and D3, unless I can add them on for that
    specifically?

    Regards,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for following up! Yes, that’s correct–all tickets assigned to recurring events will count as tickets for the entire series, regardless of which day the user is viewing when the ticket is purchased. It sounds like this is exactly what you’re looking to do, so you should have no problems with the combination of Events Calendar PRO and Event Tickets Plus in their current forms! 🙂

I hope that helps! Thanks again, and let me know if you should have any other questions!

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
