Moving wordpress site to root caused the event listing to show directory listing

there was another post in may that sounded similar but there was not solution posted. (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/wordpress-installed-in-subdirectory-default-events-slug-page-shows-index-pa/#post-19287).

I moved my site from a staging site to the root directory. The list by category works fine, however,the events url slug when clicked, displays a directory listing of files…

I found it…. when moving to the root, there was a file with the same name…. thank you very much!
