    Hi all,

We’ve been testing Event Calender Pro on a test site, with:
    The Events Calendar
    The Events Calendar PRO
    The Events Calendar: Filter Bar
    WooCommerce
    Event Tickets
    Event Tickets Plus

We cannot create new events on the new live website before it’s launch. Is it possible to first create all the events on the test website and then copy them via ftp to the live website at a certain moment? If yes, then what exactly needs to be copied? What about the database?

A second option to do this perhaps is to first create everything on the test website, then export these events and then import these events on the live website? How do I do this?

    Hi, Hylke.

All the events, organizers, and venues are custom post types so all that should export/import pretty solidly via the WordPress Importer.

PRO’s recurring events possibly wouldn’t transfer over as well because they use the parent-child relationship and I’m not certain those Post IDs would transfer over properly. It’d really be a trial and error thing.

However, if you just push Staging to overwrite Production, that should probably work in all situations.

Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups before modifying anything on your site.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
