ParticipantHello,
We have The events Calendar Pro, the Eventbrite tickets and Community paid plugins. Today I was gonna use a license for a new website and I got this message “There is an update available for The Events Calendar PRO but your license key is out of installs.” … I took a look, and in all of the accounts we have, there are more than 20 “localhost” URLs authorized.. Is our account hacked? I am manually disconnecting them, So I can have available installs again, but it scares me that someone is using our license and that the problem will come back, it takes a really long time to disconnect them.
Please advice,
-Andrea

KeymasterHellooooooo Andrea,
Thanks for using our plugins and for reaching out! I’ll help you with your issues, I’m really sorry you are having them.
I checked your account and indeed there is a whole bunch of localhosts there. In case you don’t know, localhost is usually a local installation let’s say on your PC / laptop, where you develop the site. And if you plug in the license key there to get automatic updates, then that also gets registered in our system. This is not a problem if you stay within the number of license keys (and linked domains) you are entitled to.
If you have a feeling your license key might be used by someone else, we can easily generate a new one for you for any or all of the plugins you have. Just give me the word. You will then need to update your license keys on all the sites you have. It will surely take some time, but then you’ll be sure nobody else is using them.
Let me know how I can help you further.
Cheers,

ParticipantHello Andras,
Thank you for the reply and explanation. I understand where the “localhost” comes from, my concern is that we don’t have those many sites locally, and they all appeared within a week. which makes me believe someone might be using our keys 🙁
I’ll check with the team and see if they want to change the keys in our current websites.
Thanks again!
happy Friday.
