More on Back button linked to categories

Hello – I’ve read through the forum on the “Back to Events” link that appears on single event view, I found this:

I applied this, but it broke the plugin. Is there an easy way to do this? CSS workaround perhaps? I have different groups of people viewing different category events, I do not want to dump them back into the full events category, but rather contain them within the category they are viewing.
