ParticipantWhen I view the events calendar in the “Month” mode each day with an event listed has a link saying “View All X Events” (with X being some number ranging from 16 to 160) even though most days have only one or two events. For example, a day which has only two events listed still has a link that says “view all 160 events.”
Another issue is that all events on my calendar are marked as “recurring” even though many have the “recurrence” field set to “none.”
When I temporarily deactivated the “Events Calendar Pro” plugin but kept the core plugin (thus disabling recurring events) I noticed the bug with the “View All X Events” was still there but X was a smaller number, say 16 instead of 160.
These two issues both cropped up after I imported the site to its current location from a wordpress installation I was running on a test server using the same theme & plugins. Any ideas where I should check to see what’s going on?

ParticipantHey Timothy,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
This is definitely a strange issue to be having. Hopefully we can help you get to the root of the issue quickly.
Firstly, I would like to determine whether this is a display issue or an issue of duplicated events in the database. When editing events in your WordPress dashboard, do you see the appropriate number of events there that you would expect to see, or does it also show hundreds of extra events (possibly hundreds of recurrences of an event).
Also, have you tried following the Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a conflict at play with an existing plugin or theme?
Thanks1

ParticipantHi, this is definitely some kind of display issue since the database doesn’t have duplicated events. I’ve tried deactivating other plugins and switching themes to look for conflicts but nothing has come up so far. Most of the site settings on the new server are identical to what they were on the test server where everything displayed correctly.
Is it possible some data didn’t copy over correctly when we did the site migration? Anywhere you’d suggest looking?

ParticipantHey Timothy,
Thanks for following up.
This is definitely a strange issue. Do you have a link to where we can take a look at the site?
Also, do you have a caching plugin enabled? If so, try purging the cache and seeing if that helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Josh,
Here’s a link to the calendar page:
http://bayviewmagic.org/events/month/
I have admin privileges for this site but master caching settings are controlled through the Multisite network admin. I have tried using the “delete cache” link for the calendar page but it hasn’t had any effect.
Thanks

ParticipantHey Timothy,
Thanks for following up!
When transferring, were you coming from a single install of WordPress to the multisite install or was the original environment also a multisite network?
Also, is there a main site for this particular network that I could take a quick glance at?
Thanks1

ParticipantHi Josh,
It was from one multi-site install on one server (where I run test sites for clients prior to deployment) to another.
I’ll follow up with the IT admin for this multisite network to see if there’s a main site.

ParticipantHey Timothy,
Sounds good. I’ll do some research on our end and review the issue with a multisite install that has multiple installs utilizing the plugin to manage events. I’m curious if the “View all X events” is pulling all events from that day for every site that has a calendar using the plugin.
I’ll follow up as well to let you know what I find.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Josh,
I believe this is the only site on that network using the plugin.

ParticipantHey Timothy,
I reached out to one of our developers to help with some tests on multisite however we weren’t able to recreate the issue. Additionally, my previous theory would probably only be possible if the installation had a custom database structure.
Another thought, since this is a multisite install, there could potentially be a conflict with another plugin that is globally activated and that you don’t have the ability to deactivate from within your install. Would you have the ability to work with the system admin to test for conflicts with any globally activated plugins?
Thanks!
