ParticipantHi,
I created an event to recur the fourth Friday of each month. However, as I was going through the months in the calendar I saw that this event is showing up every day in the month of June (2013). It’s here: http://encinochamber.org/events-calendar/Have I done something wrong? The event (Network Plus Breakfast) show up okay on all other months as far as I can see, it’s only June that’s weird.

MemberCan you list any other plugins that you have installed – particularly any event-related ones (besides ours, of course)?

ParticipantHi Barry, I did have Events Organiser (albeit deactivated). I just deleted it and still see the NetPlus Breakfast every day in June. I talked to one of the chamber people who did, in fact, edit that recurring event. I had it set originally to repeat every month until 2018, but she changed it to end in Oct 2013 (since there is no breakfast in November). Could this have caused the problem?
I reset the end date, but no luck. Is there a way to exclude certain dates/months?April 9, 2013 at 12:50 pm #45401Barry
MemberWe’ve seen this a few times before and it’s been a conflict with one or two other event management plugins and, peculiarly, seems to happen when an event lands on the last day of a given month – it then repeats across the following month.
If in your case there are no other event plugins currently activated we should try our standard troubleshooting steps in their entirety:
- Please ensure that your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in-synch … for instance if you are using The Events Calendar 2.0.11 you must also use Events Calendar PRO 2.0.11
- Deactivate all other plugins and change your theme to a default, unmodified one such as Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve
- Now test to see if the problem still exists
- If the problem has been solved by these steps, start reactivating everything one-at-a-time, testing at each point to see if the issue has returned
- If the issue does return, take note of whichever plugin (or theme) you reactivated immediately before it started again – it’s likely there is a conflict with this item

ParticipantHi Barry,
I deactivated the plugins and the everyday event thing went away. I reactivated them one by and found the culprit. We have Tribulant Software’s shopping cart plugin installed. That’s the shopping cart we’re using for member payments, etc. What should I do now?April 12, 2013 at 11:42 am #45695Barry
MemberInteresting to know … have you asked that plugin’s vendors if they have any ideas about this?

ParticipantI was just about to do that now.

MemberGreat – and do let us know the outcome, whether that is a problem with our code or even just that they can’t offer any support and we’ll have another think about what to do on our end.

ParticipantI’ll jump in on this thread so I don’t start a new one, because I’m having the same issue. (Although if I need to create a new one I’m happy to.)
My plugin conflict is with Series Engine (http://seriesengine.com/) and I will contact them as soon as I finish. It’s a plugin for adding sermon series’ for our church.
The website I’m referring to is http://redemptionhillbc.org/new/.I am using Trim Theme (http://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/trim/).

ParticipantOkay, I installed Twenty-Twelve, problem went away, then I re-activated my theme and all seems to be working well now. Maybe just a way of manually rebooting it? I have both plugins running together now. Fingers crossed…

MemberHmm, well the main thing is that it’s working. Thanks for letting us know (and for anyone else experiencing this, please do try the same steps 🙂 ).

ParticipantHi Barry, I did just try that, but it doesn’t help. Even with a twenty eleven or twelve theme the problem still occurs. Here’s what I got from Tribulant software (makers of the shopping cart):
Hello Michael,
Thank you for your ticket.
I have browsed our tickets since we have seen this problem in the past and I was able to find a support ticket under the Events Calendar Forum: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/single-event-showing-up-on-multiple-days/
Apparently this issue is not particularly related to our plugin as some other users are experiencing the same problem. Is there any chance you can get in contact with the Events Calendar Pro support team and ask them what was the cause of this problem and if it could be the reason for the problem you are facing on your website? They might have more details about this.

MemberOK. One further idea to try is adjusting your timezone in the WordPress settings. There are two different forms of offset, geographies like America/Los Angeles and UTC offsets like UTC-8hrs.
If your installation is not already using the UTC offset type can you try changing it and see if that has any impact?
Thanks!

ParticipantBarry, that worked! Thank you so much.
