ParticipantHi guys,
When I try to set the month displayed via the URL like so:
MYURL/events/?eventDisplay=month&eventDate=2013-08The title is correctly updated, but the calendar still displays the current month. It works if I set eventDisplay to “day” or “week” though. Am I doing it wrong, or is this a known bug or not a feature?
Cheers
Saul

MemberHi Saul.
First of all – cool website, we love what you’ve done there and it would be awesome if you could drop us a line once that goes live.
It definitely looks like you’ve done a lot of customization and consequently month view is nothing like I’d normally expect. Are you able to share details of what you have put in place customization-wise, even if as a high level overview?

MemberWell, the only thing I’d really comment on is the form of that URL (which looks similar to the format previously used in 2.0.x).
If month view is your default view then …/events/2013-09/ should work as the format to force a different month (assuming you are using pretty permalinks which you do seem to be using).
If you do need to pass the date in the URL query then with 3.x you should use something like tribe-bar-date=2013-09 (rather than eventDate.
Does that help at all?

MemberNo, you shouldn’t lose the event data – but do take a backup to be safe.
Before you do that, or perhaps you could do this within a testing/development environment, perhaps you could take the installation back to a point with only Modern Tribe plugins running and a default, unmodified theme and see if it works at that point.
If it does, start by reinstating your custom theme. If the problem returns at that point we can drill into that (for instance we could rename your tribe-events custom templates folder to revert to the original templates and see if that’s a factor) and the same process for plugins would hold true – keep reactivating until the problem returns.
If we can isolate this we’ll have a better chance of fixing it 🙂

ParticipantIt seems to be a conflict with events calendar pro plugin. I deactivated it and the URL worked as expected. Uploaded a clean event calendar pro plugin and it failed, even when combined with a clean event calendar standard plugin. Is this a known bug?

MemberNo, the correct URL format should indeed work with Pro enabled. Can you clarify if you tested this with anything else enabled (such as a custom theme)?

ParticipantIf I change to the default theme (twentytwelve), it works with the pro plugin on. So if I turn off either A: the pro plugin, or B: my custom theme (a heavily edited bootstrap), the month URL works. Feels like finding out where the conflict is could be tricky, any ideas??

MemberI’d probably start by looking at what happens without your heavily-edited version of the theme – does it work then? If so, start reintroducing your edits and see if you can pinpoint things that way.
I’m afraid there may not be too much we can offer up here since it relates to some fairly bespoke custom theme work (by the sounds of it).
