ParticipantI am using the [tribe_events_list] shortcode to display 4 upcoming events on my homepage. I would like to edit a few things that I can’t seem to do via css. Where do I change the display for “tribe-event-date-start” so that it displays the month abbreviation instead of the full month. Also, where can I change the display options so I can get a horizontal list rather than a vertical list for this shortcode? Currently displays as:
Event 1
Event 2
Event 3
Event 4Need it to be:
Event 1 Event 2
Event 3 Event 4Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

ParticipantHey Monty,
Thanks for reaching out.
Both questions you pose here are unfortunately outside the scope of we can provide. Please read more here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/what-support-is-provided-for-license-holders/
Both things you ask would require custom coding, which we cannot help with. You would have to write that custom code or hire a professional developer to do it for you. We have a list of great developers here → http://m.tri.be/18k1 (and have no affiliation with any of these folks—they’re simply some well-respected names in the community that we’ve compiled to share in situations like this one).
With all this being said, I’m happy to at least point you in the right direction on both things to get you started.
When it comes to changing the layout from vertical to horizontal, this will require just some good old CSS. You’ll want to “float” the elements left and tweak their layout from there—search online for how to make a grid display out of a list with CSS and you’re sure to find some good examples online.
As for the question about month abbreviations, to modify this you just need to head to Events → Settings in your site’s wp-admin. Once here, go to the “Display” tab, and scroll down to the “Date Format Settings” section.
There’s an option here called “Date without year” — specify a custom format here that fits your desires, and it’ll be used as the start date format in a number of places including the output of [tribe_events_list].
It’s probably F j by default — try using the format M j instead for that option and it should do the trick.
Cheers!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
