Modifying TEC core files

I need to modify both Main.php and API.php

Can I use the (custom)Main.php and API.php be used in my own theme file structure

Where should I place those files in my theme folder? (if possible to do that)

I tried the my-theme/tribe-events subfolder but that does not work

Thanks for using our plugins. I can help out here.

It is not possible to modify those files in your theme.

You can only modify in the plugin itself and the changes would be lost on each update.
