    Hi Modern Tribe Team!

I’m currently using the Enfold theme. Recently I’ve discovered a problem where my menu would disappear on mobile view on all the Event Calendar pages and those pages only. This does not happen all the time but frequently. I’ve contacted the theme creator support team already but they’re having a bit trouble pinpointing the problem. I was hoping your team could take a look. I would appreciate any help that you could provide!

Also, there are many times when on the mobile version, the calendar itself is not very responsive. The Days at the top (Monday-Sunday) do not turn to their abbreviated version.

    Many thanks and great work!

Hey @dialedin! Thanks for reaching out. 🙂

Interesting! The month view should be responsive right out of the box. Here’s a good demo you can see, especially where the weekday names change to abbreviations.

A few of ideas off the bat:

    • Have you changed any of the date format settings under Events > Settings > Display? I wonder if something changed in there might be forcing the weekday names to stay in their long form.
    • Does the theme override any of the calendar templates? You can check by opening your theme directory and looking for a folder called tribe-events. If that’s there, let me know if there are any templates in there that might affect the month view.
    • There may be custom functions included in the theme as well that could have an impact here. A good way to check is to switch to a default WordPress theme (something like Twenty Fifteen) and see if the calendar responds on small screens the way you’d expect. If you can’t do this on your live site, then try it out on a test site instead.

Let’s start here and see what we find! If you have a link to the support thread you have open with Enfold, I’d be happy to check that out as well. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Geoff,

Thanks for the reply. As for the couple of things you pointed out.

Date Format Settings: No, I have not touched those settings.
Theme Overrides: Yes, there are a couple of overrides for the Event Calendar Plugin. Enfold is supposed to be a supported theme.
Switching to Twenty Fifteen: I have done that it would seem it is an Enfold issue.

Here’s the link to the Enfold support forum!

    Hey there, @dialedin!

Thanks s TON for the additional info.

The Enfold theme itself includes customizations that can be creating this issue. I hate to bounce you back-and-forth, but I do think the fine folks over at Kreisi will be better suited to solve the issue since they wrote the customizations and we’re unfamiliar with them. The fact that the issue goes away when switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme seems to confirm that as well.

I’m super sorry I don’t have more of a concrete answer for you here. At the same time, I will leave this thread open while you’re working with Kriesi and would be happy to answer any questions that might pop up along the way.

    Thanks!
    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,

Thanks for trying. I’ll post the link to or the solution to this problem once the Kriesi team is able to resolve it for anyone else that may have this problem.

    Hi Geoff,

The Kriesi Team has figured out that the problem was the Events Calendar Pro Add on. I was instructed to use one or the other but I’ve mentioned to them that Events Calendar Pro is an add on and it requires Events Calendar in order to function. I was wondering if there is a combined plugin of The Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro combined together available for download? If there is, I feel like it’s worth a try to install and easily solve this issue.

    Many thanks,
    DialedIN

    Fellow Events Calendar Pro users!

It would appear the problem has been solved. Simply deactive and reactive the Events Calendar Pro add on plugin. If that does not work please try reinstalling The Event Calendar Pro.

Thanks everyone for their hard work!
    Cheers.
