ParticipantThe venue is missing in this event:
https://tourismswiftcurrent.ca/event/cypress-hills-the-historical-musical-drama/
It should be the same venue as in this example:
https://tourismswiftcurrent.ca/event/swift-current-improv-theatre-3/When I try to add the venue, the edit screen shows 2 venue entry areas – the first being empty, the second being the correct venue, yet no combination of deleting or adding the venue and republishing fixes the problem. See attached screen shot.
I’ve never run into anything like this before. It’s possible it may have been like this for awhile but I only just noticed it. Everything else with events and venues appears to be operating normally.

KeymasterHello onelittlemoose,
Thanks for reaching out and I’m sorry about this issue.
We have recently received another report on this issue and are currently investigating and trying to gather as much information as possible. So far I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue so the more details you can share with us the more it will help.
What events are you experiencing this issue with? All events or only some?
Does it happen with all / more venues or only one?
Were the events imported or created normally with a proper venue selection?
Does this happen with only old events or also with new events?
Did this start happening maybe after a plugin update?
Thanks,
Andras

I have only found it on this one event with this particular venue. If I add a new event with that venue, it behaves normally. I only just noticed it, so I can’t pinpoint when it first showed up.
This site was re-designed about 6 months ago, and we imported the old content, including the events into the new site. The old site used WP and TEC pro as well. That venue would have been among those imported.
Sorry this is all so vague.

KeymasterNo worries about vagueness, I’m sure your giving the best explanation that you can, which is already big help.
My hunch is that the issue appeared when importing to the new location.
As I mentioned we had another report on this issue, and we just managed to solve that for the user. You can read about it in this reply.
Though for your case, if it is only one event that is affected, then it might be simpler and faster to just re-create the event. I’ll let you decide which path you take. 🙂 Both of them work.
Let me know how you end up and if you have any more questions.
Cheers,

Since it appears to be only the one instance, I’ve re-added it as a new event, backdated the “old” event (so it doesn’t show up in the full events listings) and added a 301 redirect to send it to the new/correct event.
Methinks problem solved!

KeymasterExcellent, stoked to hear the issue is solved.
The 301 redirect is a great idea. Good job on that!
I am going to close down this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please post a new one in the forum and we will be happy to help you out.
Good luck with your project!
