ParticipantHello All,
I THINK I seem to be missing a whole host of php files (for example, I cannot find the list.php file so I can customize that). I inherited the client site, and CANNOT figure out how to get my list looking like the demo – so I just want to do something extremely simple – in which I then noticed that I’m missing files.
If I deactivate and then reinstall, will I lose all of their events?
Notice how there is no description in the list view, I cannot figure out how to get it. 🙁
Thanks for any help!

KeymasterHello Ingrid,
Thanks for reaching out! I can help you solve this one.
I checked the site, it has a nice design. 🙂 And I think the plugins are all right.
To answer your question: no, the events will remain intact if you deactivate, uninstall, then re-install the plugins. Nonetheless I recommend you to do a full site and database backup before doing any major change on your website.
If you would like to modify the list view, then you can find the corresponding files here:
wp-content\plugins\the-events-calendar\src\views\
There is a ‘list.php’ file and a ‘list’ folder there. I believe those are the ones you are looking for.
Also note that there already could be a template override for the list view, and other views as well. If this is the case then you need to look for the files here:
wp-content/themes/{your-active-theme-name}/tribe-events
That is the folder where all calendar template overrides are placed.
(You can find further info on creating template overrides in our Themer’s Guide)
Let me know if this gets you started and if you have more questions.
Cheers,
