Missing fields on the .PO file (Some fields are not there to be translated)

Hi there!
After a rough adaptation phase last year (which ended up with me downgrading the plugin), I finally gathered enough courage to tackle it again (actually I hired a developer to do this job) and I’m deeply satisfied with the result. It’s indeed a great tool, and responsive now!

The thing is, there are some fields missing on the .PO file, so they don’t appear “translated”. One is the link “+ ICAL IMPORT MONTH’S EVENTS”, which appears on the calendar month view, and I simply couldn’t find where I can change it on the .PO file.

And the other case that I would like to translate is the word “Other” in the event description (it only appears when you have itens that you added on the “additional fields”). I found a label “Other” in the .PO file, but I transalated it and yet nothing happened.

I’m not quite sure if it is a problem for the PRO or free plugin. I just would like to be able to translate these labels, since my website is in the Brazilian Portuguese language and I’ve done several changes in the translation (as to adapt to my needs).

Hopefully there is a kinda easy way to “tell” the code to change those labels.

Thanks for getting in touch. I’m glad you’re enjoying the plugin.

The reason you are seeing so many words in English is because the translation is outdated. All of our plugins are translated by volunteers, and no one has worked on this one in a while. Would you be interested in updating the translation? That would fix your site and we’d give you a free license in exchange.

If you are interested, check out the Getting Started post where you’ll find the instructions and files you need. If you are not able to translate it, you’ll unfortunately need to wait for someone else to update the files.

You’ll want to make sure that before you start translating (whether for us or only for your own use) that you update the .po files with the latest .pot file as described in the Getting Started post. That step is essential and will even fix some of the problems you’ve mentioned.

We recommend that you do not change the translation file as a way to change phrases on the front end. Since translation files are updated, your changes could easily be overwritten. Your translation could also get out of date as we change the plugin and then be missing strings. It is best if you make changes to the text using a a string-specific translation plugin like Say What? or by using a get_text filter.
