What is the expected functionality on the mini-events calendar widget…does it show that day’s events OR upcoming events. So should an event that has already ended still show up because it happened today?
Additionally, I think there is an issue where events from the prior day that end after midnight show despite me adjusting the cutoff date. This was reported in this forum post: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/mini-calendar-not-displaying-correctly/ It’s not clear if this was ever corrected. Thanks!

Great question. In short I understand it is meant to show upcoming events for the current month and we’re probably looking at a minor bug of sorts here.
Re your second point, one thing to be aware of is that the cut-off time is not inclusive, so if 2am is the cut-off and an event ends at that point (but you don’t wish it to spill across) would need to make the cut-off point 2.30am.
Does that help/clarify things?
It clearly looks at the day but it’s not respecting the day cut off. Here’s a screen shot from today October 3 at 4:04pm EST. Notice calendar is set for Oct 3 but the first event ended Oct 3 at 1am. I have my day cutoff as 2:30am to be on the safe side.

You’re absolutely right, I see what you mean now. This looks to me like a bug and I’ll definitely get it reported so we can push a fix out in one of the next maintenance releases.
Thanks and FWIW I updated my plugins this week to the latest version and that did not fix the issue. Thanks for your help.
No problem. I’ll go ahead and close this thread, but stay tuned and at some point over the next few maintenance releases we ought to get this addressed 🙂
