ParticipantHi,
[tribe_mini_calendar]
I feel like I’m making an obvious mistake. I want to use the shortcode in a sidebar. Is this possible? When I go to Widgets, I see the List View and am able to add that without issue.
Not only am I having trouble with that, I am also not able to get it to work in the main body of the page. The page simply outputs the text “[tribe_mini_calendar]”. I don’t actually want it in the main body, but I am curious as to what I’m doing wrong.
Thanks,
Edwin

MemberHi,
Thanks for using our pugins.
It is possible to use shortcodes in widgets.
By default though WordPress does not enable this.
Please follow this guide to make it work:

Cheers

ParticipantHi Brian and thank you for the quick response. I read the article you mentioned and added the line to functions.php with no luck. Let me ask you this: should the mini-calendar appear in my widgets list already? Like I said, The Events Calendar List View appears in the Widget list.
If that is not the issue, I might need to circle back to part of my original question. When I add the shortcode to the body (as opposed to the sidebar), it simply outputs the shortcode text. Its as if the shortcode isn’t recognized at all.
I recently updated to 4.0 for both the Pro and Community addons. I am using Highend theme if that helps.
Thanks again.

Just added the above line to the body. It simply outputs the text also. I am clearly doing something wrong.
Please see this screenshot:

MemberHi,
If the shortcodes are not working anywhere it sounds like Pro is not active.
Can you verify Pro is active and on the same version number for the first twp numbers.
So 4.0.x, all the plugins should be on 4.0
Let me know what you find out.
Thanks

ParticipantOk…
There are only 2 plugins listed for The Events Calendar, although I have purchased both PRO and COMMUNITY. Should there be three? Core + PRO + COMMUNITY ?

MemberHi,
Yep there should be 3 active and Pro is not there so that should be the cause of this.
You can download the latest version from your account here on theeventscalendar.com
And then follow these steps to install it if you need help:
Let me know how that works out.
Thanks

ParticipantYup… that was it. I thought PRO overrode the CORE. Thanks for the help, Brian.
