ParticipantHello,
I am re-designing a client website who currently has The Events Calendar Pro integrated @ http://roosterssouthernkitchen.com/
I have the staging site built @ http://hubcitymobile.com/rooster
I read through the documentation that explains how to deactivate the license on the current site to the staging site, as well as how to import/export event information via the WP import/export tool.
My question is, will any of the recurring event information be lost during this migration?
I will be migrating the staging site files over to the live URL @ http://roosterssouthernkitchen.com/. Will the event information simple populate correctly once I migrate the site files?I want this migration to go as smoothly as possible, so I wanted to get your feedback before proceeding.
Please let me know if you need any other information from me.
Thanks!

ParticipantHowdy Cori,
I would love to help you migrate your site.
You are obviously already up to speed on our recommended procedures here. The Import/Export tools are our preferred solution for doing this.
The recurrence data should carry over. But I have to be up front, we do not test the import/export but once every few months. Sometimes between the testing periods a bug gets introduced. It has been a few months since the last in-depth test. So there is a small possibility that some data will be missing due to a bug. In light of that here is what I would do if I were you:
- Backup the new site, the one that you will be importing into.
- Run the import.
- Double check the data, make sure everything you expected to get carried over does.
If anything is missing in step 3, make a note of what it is then restore the backup from Step 1. Let me know what’s missing and I’ll gladly help you find a way to get that missing info. I doubt this will be needed, but I am telling you this just in case the unlikely/worst should happen.
That sound like a plan?
Cheers!

ParticipantHey Brook,
Just got the site migrated over, however I am unable to add the license key to The Events Calendar plugin.
After reading through the documentation @ https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/finding-and-inputting-your-license-key/
I can see the problem is most likely because of different versions of the plugin. How do I update the version of The Events Calendar Pro to match version 4.2.4 of the core plugin? Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Thanks!

ParticipantOh awesome! We’re nearly there.
I would checkout this tutorial for transferring your key from one site to another:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-your-license-keys/
I know you mentioned at the outset that you read about deactivating keys (which the above article highlights). Have you successfully deactivated the one key? If so is the license active on the new site? You should just be able to click Update once it’s active.
Cheers!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
