Menu not showing and widgets not loading completely on events listing page

Hi

I am using TwentyTwelve with your Events Calendar and Wootickets plugins. The homepage of my blog is http://localhost:8888/wpzenith/?post_type=tribe_events. I did this by creating a page and making it point to an alternate url (http://localhost:8888/wpzenith/?post_type=tribe_events) so the permalink is stuck as this url. Only on the events listing page (my homepage) the menu is not showing at all. A widget which should load my posts in the sidebar does not load either only on this page. I have read that not giving decent permalinks can bring up this issues but I can’t find another way to set http://localhost:8888/wpzenith/?post_type=tribe_events as my homepage and changing the permalink as well. Do you have any suggestions?

Great. For the benefit of anyone else coming across this thread default permalinks, such as:

http://example.com?post_type=tribe_events&post=4301

(Note the section starting with a question mark, ?post_type=tribe_events&post=4301) do not work well with The Events Calendar. Instead you should use “pretty” permalinks such as:

http://example.com/event/my-special-event
