    Hey Andy!

Thanks for reaching out to us — and sorry to hear you haven’t gotten those user roles resolved yet.

Unfortunately we can’t guarantee the functionality of third-party plugins. I haven’t tested the one Andras recommended to you, But WP-Members looks like it does support custom post types (which is what The Events Calendar uses to store events) so it should theoretically work.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi,
I cant put the restrict member setting into https://hdcgroup.com.my/events/community/add as there is currently no page for community. May i know how to add this community event function into a page? Any shortcode?

By the way, is there anyway for me to remove the sidebar for this kind of pages as well? http://prntscr.com/kl4yuz

    Thanks

Hi. We’re happy to help in general, but please understand that we do not provide support for any membership plugins. Additionally, it seems there are multiple requests in here. I’ll try to address your questions:

    1) There are more capabilities than just edit_tribe_event. If you’d like to edit the default capabilities (who can do what), you may choose to consider modifying the behavior via custom code, a membership plugin, or possibly via a plugin like User Role Editor (we cannot guarantee its compatibility but it generally considered a reliable plugin). If nothing else, it can help visualize what capabilities exist.

    2) Are you wanting to only restrict access to Community Events? If so, you might be interested in an upcoming extension that we’ll have (hopefully within a month or so, but we don’t commit to release dates) that will allow you to charge a fee to submit an event.

If that wouldn’t provide you the functionality you want, some membership plugins can restrict by URL. If yours does, you could restrict by “/events/community”.

I see you have both https://wordpress.org/plugins/members/ and https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-memberships/ installed on your site. Which one are you planning to use? And what exactly are you trying to restrict access to?

    Hi,
I just want certain roles(eg : shop manager) to be able to create and submit event only. Other than this role, cannot.

https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities#Capability_vs._Role_Table may be helpful (wherever it says something like delete_others_posts, the custom post type’s version, like delete_others_tribe_events, should match) when customizing the capabilities per role.

Those should apply to the wp-admin edit screen, such as Add New Event.

If you’re also wanting to restrict the Community Events form, see the settings page at wp-admin > Events > Settings > Community tab.

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
