ParticipantHi guys
I am running an event next week and have set the number of tickets available to 192. When I click on the ‘attendees’ button it would say “5 of 192 sold”.
But yesterday I checked and it said “141 of 203 sold” and today it is saying “154 of 204 sold”. Why is this last number increasing?
I exported the csv file to see how many attendees their were and there was 154. I am concerned I will be selling people a seat when there actually isn’t one. Any help would be great

MemberHi John,
That definitely sounds unusual.
I’m guessing you haven’t manually edited the stock levels; but can you confirm if you have completed any operations such as refunding orders or anything of that nature?

ParticipantHey Barry
I haven’t performed any refunds. I have added a few manual orders. Some have had trouble with PayPal so I have processed it manually and they will pay cash on the day. I have also processed a few ‘free’ orders manually.
Would this possibly have some affect?

MemberHi John,
Yes, that would impact – the WooCommerce philosophy here is that manual order control requires manual inventory control:
- Let’s say we create a new ticket with an inventory of 100
- A regular customer buys 2 → inventory decreases to 98 as you would expect
- We then manually create an order for a further 3 tickets → this is a manual intervention and WooCommerce will not adjust the inventory levels automatically
- What we have now are sales of 5 units but a remaining stock of 98
The above scenario would leave us with a summary of Sold 5 of 103 which is not an inaccurate representation of things though I do understand it is not what you want – but the answer here is to manually adjust the stock levels (in the above scenario you would reduce the inventory by 3 units).
Does that help here? I do realize it can catch users off-guard, but it’s ultimately a behaviour of WooCommerce rather than WooCommerce Tickets – you can see exactly the same thing with regular non-ticketing products – and fairly easy to workaround.
Let me know if that gets you on track or if I’m misunderstanding your issue.

MemberHi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
