    Hi:

This is a deal-breaker for me. I’m thinking that I don’t know enough PHP to do this, but could understand with the right direction. I’m hoping to get that here.

I was hoping to use the Additional Fields because it is so easy to use, however since the CSV importer doesn’t map to those fields, it’s rendered useless for my client.

Less preferably, we could add new fields to the event page itself via the importer, but they would not be accessible on the event editing page. Right?

Using this file ‘the-events-calendar/lib/io/csv/classes/TribeEventsImporter_ColumnMapper.php’ I am able to add the additional columns from my import file to the mapping page and import without error. EXCEPT, they don’t show up anywhere. So, then (for Events) on the ‘the-events-calendar/lib/io/csv/classes/TribeEventsImporter_FileImporter_Events.php’ file I can’t seem to get any of the newly mapped additional fields to show.

How can I do this? Or are there ‘preferred vendors’ I could connect with to help create this functionality on my site?

Again, I would prefer to do this with the Additional Fields feature of the plugin and/or have the ability to edit the fields once imported.

    Thanks…

I’d love to help further but what you’re asking is very much a custom development task – added to which modifying core plugin code is not generally the sort of approach we’d recommend.

Support for additional fields from the CSV importer is something we’re actively looking into, though, so definitely stay tuned for announcements on that front ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hey:

Thanks for the reply. It looks like that request has been around for a while now…any kind of ETA on that? I need this live by mid-January. It doesn’t look like that’s a possibility with this plugin as/is.

Do you have any preferred developers that could help me with this?

If you’d like to email us – pro (at) tri (dot) be – we can certainly provide you with a list of potentially suitable freelancers/independent development shops who may be able to assist ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m afraid I cannot offer up an ETA and realistically I wouldn’t suggest relying on this functionality shipping by mid-Janaury (though it’s not impossible). Please do drop us an email though and we’ll happily furnish you with that list.

Since there isn’t too much more we can offer up on this occasion I’ll go ahead and close this thread – but please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed for any other issues that might crop up ๐Ÿ™‚

    Thanks again!
