Mapping additional fields for CSV import

Hi all, I’ve been looking around and so far not had any luck finding an answer to this. A client wants to be able to import events via CSV (so many thanks for this functionality!) but has asked if they can add new/custom fields to be imported.

So I guess my question is simply, is there a way to map additional fields?

If this is not built in, could you point me in the direction of the code that creates the built in fields and I’ll get my developer to have a look.

Hi David,

I don’t think there are any particularly straightforward avenues here that wouldn’t involve modifying core code which, as you can understand, is not something we would ordinarily recommend.

That said, the code in question is almost exclusively contained in the the-events-calendar/lib/io/csv directory if you want to ask your developer to review it in more depth.

Please also note we always welcome feature requests and I believe there may even be a suitable existing request you could add your support to 🙂
