ParticipantHi there, we’ve just recently bought and installed the new version of Events Calendar Pro after using v2.x for a couple of years. I installed ECP on an offline copy of our site to test the plugin with our theme and the various other plugins we use, and it worked without any problem.
When checking the map view, I noticed that one of the venue locations was displaying at Latitude 0, Longitude 0. On re-saving the venue records for a couple of our venues, the map view displayed correctly. Having checked everything else, I upgraded the Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro on our live website. As with the offline site, the map view initially displayed a number of venues at 0,0 – but on re-saving those venues, the map view does not correct itself.
None of the individual venue posts or event posts display their maps incorrectly.
There’s very little difference between the offline and online sites – the only plugin not used by the offline site is a caching plugin, which I deactivated and removed to no effect. I have gone through and deactivated all the plugins to check for a conflict, and switched to the default theme – in both (all?) cases, the map view continued to display incorrectly.
As far as I know, I went through the upgrading process in the same way for the two sites – the only difference is that for the offline site I upgraded to 3.0.5, then 3.1 when it was released, whereas with the live site, I upgraded directly to 3.1.
Digging around in the databases for the two versions of the site, I noticed that in the wp_postmeta of the offline site, each VenueGeoAddress has a corresponding VenueLat and VenueLng, whereas in the live site, there are only a handful of VenueLat and VenuLng. This suggests something went wrong when building the geodata for the venues, and as there isn’t an option to rebuild the geodata, and simply re-saving the venues doesn’t add that information, I’m at a loss for how to resolve this.
I’ve currently de-activated the map view, as we’re going in to the weekend and just sent out an events newsletter, so I don’t want to confuse our users with a map that’s sending them to the Gulf of Guinea. If you need to see the map view, I can reactivate it, but as I’m not sure of response timescales, I don’t want to leave it on for any length of time.

MemberThis does look like a bug that has cropped up in 3.1 – we already have at least one other report of it – and will strive to fix as quickly as we can. That realistically may mean it is one or two maintenance releases away, but do know that we’re actively looking into a fix.

ParticipantI have some events without a venue. Those are showing up on the map with the Lat/Long 0 coordinates that you mention above.
Obviously events without a physical venue should not show up in the map view at all, particularly not on the equator.

MemberI definitely agree and will add that detail to the bug report just to ensure it is quashed. Thanks!
