Map not visible for some events

    The map is visible on some of the events – but no longer appears for new events created.

    This is not a conflict – it appears for some events.

    This is happening for any new events created. The original 2 events have a displaying map.

    This is not venue dependent – and show map is enabled for all venues.

    It looks like a different view is being loaded for the events where the map is not visible – why would this be?

    Hi Douglas and welcome to the forums!

    Sorry for the trouble here. I have seen this pop up from time-to-time and it is indeed frustrating. The good news is that most cases I’ve seen have a relatively simple fix.

    In many cases, the map does not display because the Google Maps API is unable to identify the geolocation coordinates for the venue of the event. To fix this, please navigate to the Edit screen for the venue that is not displaying.

    From there, click on the “Use latitude + longitude” option in the Venue Information area (screenshot). That will allow you to manually enter the geolocation points for the venue’s address, which you can find by searching for the address in Google Maps — it will be contained in the Google Maps URL address bar.

    Once you save the settings, that will give the Google Maps API the exact location and should resolve the issue of the map not displaying.

    However, if you find that map continues to not display even after you have followed these steps, please send me a link to one of the events in question and I’d be happy to look into it some more.
