Just wondering, is it possible to add tickets and attendee details manually. I can see, having read all the relevant threads, that I can add an Order manually in Woocommerce and can adjust the availability by either reducing line stock in the woocommerce orders or going in to the event and reducing the global stock manually.

However, by doing it this way, the manually added orders do not appear on the list of attendees and do not get issued tickets. I need this to generate an attendee list and check everyone in on the event date.

My other issue is that in the process of selling tickets, our site moved host companies. During that time, tickets were sold on the first site during the transfer, and now I can’t add them to the official list on the new hosted site. Not sure if that makes sense.

I know back in May you said this was a feature you were hoping to add soon, yet I still don’t see it as an option. Any chance there is a work around or an upcoming update?

    Thanks,
    Tanya

    Hi Tanya,

Thanks for getting in touch and I hope you had a great weekend .:)

Excellent question. There is indeed no direct way to manually add attendees and attendee data. Although it’s not ideal, one method you might consider is to checkout as the customer on the front end of your site and complete the details during the checkout process on their behalf. You can use the check payment method in WooCommerce to avoid the need for collecting payment up front and then set the status of the order from Pending to Complete to make sure it goes through.

Once the order is “complete” and the data is collected, the customer will still be able to access their information and edit any of the details, if needed.

My other issue is that in the process of selling tickets, our site moved host companies.

Oh no, sorry to hear that! Moving hosts on a site that is actively selling products is definitely tricky and takes some coordination for sure.

You will likely need to identify which orders were taken during the transfer and manually add them using the same manual process I mentioned above. Another option would be to cancel those orders and email the customers letting them know about the site maintenance and asking them to re-submit their order.

Sorry for the trouble here, but this help do the trick? Please let me know.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Thanks. Definitely not ideal, but I can give this a shot. Is there a plan to add this feature? It really is critical to whether we stay with this ticket system or not. We regularly sell tickets in person and online and it would be great to be able to check everyone in and accurately track ticket sales within the one system.

    Thanks again,
    Tanya

    Hi Tanya,

    Thanks for following up!

Yeah, I totally know that is not the ideal way to go about it, but I really do hope it does the trick.

I did a check of our roadmap and do not see that feature specifically mentioned in the next major feature release. I do, however, see an open ticket for this in our feature request forum. The request has some traction as far as votes go, but could definitely use your vote if you have a moment to add it.

While I do not have a timeframe for when that feature will be considered and worked on, I have gone ahead and flagged it for our team to make sure it’s known that this feature is gaining popularity and would be handy for a number of people.

    Thanks so much!
    Geoff

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
