ParticipantHi,
I am trying to get over the canceling and rescheduling a ticket for a recurring event. So far I have been able to cancel the ticket, then add a new order for the person I just canceled the ticket for, but when I go to choose a different day for the event the ticket that is selected is always for the most recent event. My solution was to break the recurring event from the series. When I do this I then have to recreate a ticket for that event, but what if someone has already purchased tickets for that event will the previously bought tickets that are associated with the recurring event disappear?
Is there an easier way of doing this? I tried to edit the original order WooCommerce > Orders > Order Details. Remove the wrongly purchased item: Order items > select item > Delete lines > refresh. Then in the Order Items > Search for a product > select the event that was broken from the series > Add item(s). Actions > Reduce line Stock. Order Actions > Tickets > Refresh. But this just sends a ticket for the original order.
I know the previous might be hard to follow and from other posts that I have read I have a feeling you’re going to say that this is a WooCommerce issue and to ask them, so if you could answer some of the following it would be helpful:
Is there a way to select singular instances of a recurring event while manually adding an order?
If an event is broken from the series what happens to the tickets for that single event?
Can you list the steps that you would use if someone bought a ticket on the wrong day for a recurring event?

MemberHi:
I think the basic problem here is that you are trying to combine ticketing with WooCommerce Tickets and recurring events via Events Calendar PRO. However, at least at this time, that is not currently supported – from the roadmap section of our product page:
Right now, recurring events are not supported, and attempting to set up tickets on a recurrence pattern will not work.
So you may be able to workaround this limitation but, regrettably, it’s not something we can help you with. I realize that may not be ideal – but hopefully it clarifies the situation a little.

ParticipantSo is there a way to sell recurring tickets? If not that is a pretty big deal breaker! The project that I am using this with is too far along for me to look for an alternative. Can you confirm that I will have to break the recurring ticket into individual tickets as a work around? Also, I have bought multiple license of these products to use on other projects, but if purchasing tickets for recurring events is not available then I can not use them on future projects, and will be looking for a refund. Also, you may wish to add ‘Sale of recurring events are not supported’ to the ‘Events Calendar PRO’ page.

ParticipantI realize that you are probably still short staffed, but I could not wait any longer for a confirmation on the the best way handle this, and spent the last 8+ hours manually fixing this issue. Now that I have created individual tickets for the recurring events they no longer show in the admin section of the website. I am still able to access the individual events from the front end of the site via the calendar. I have optimized and repaired the database tables, and purged the cache, but still nothing.

I’m sorry to hear that, but as before this is not currently supported. You can certainly request a refund and to do so please simply email the team at pro (at) tri (dot) be and include a copy of your purchase receipt and please also link to this thread to provide some context.

I’m sorry you’re hitting further difficulties here. Can you clarify the steps you followed for each event? Did you for instance edit single and break each out of its chain of events that way, and then add new tickets? If so can you confirm the point at which the events disappear from the admin view?

ParticipantFrom wp-admin > Events > order by Start Date > order by Title > Edit Single > add individual ticket. Tickets have product name “Ticket Title – YYYY-MM-DD” and SKU “TCK-YYYY-MM-DD”.
I’m not sure when they disappear from the wp-admin > Events section. Also, individual Events have also disappeared from the admin > Events section. These are events that were set up as one time events, and not split off from recurring events.

MemberOK. That definitely sounds worrying and we’d be happy to look into this in more detail – that said, it’s a completely different issue from the original one (re recurring events and ticketing) and I would ask that you post this in a fresh thread 🙂
(Please do also share a copy of your system info as provided in the Events > Help screen when you create that new thread or else a list of all the plugins you are currently using, plus your current theme – thanks!)
With regards to the original issue I don’t think there’s much more we can do in the short term – but do you have any further questions about that?

MemberHi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
