A few months ago some WP sites on the same server stopped allowing automatic updates. Possibly something to do with file permissions I have not been able to track down. Otherwise everything is working great, including the Events Calendar. As a work around I have updated one site (WP install and plugins) using FTP. Everything is done but the Events Calendar, Events Calendar Pro, Events Calendar Community Events, and Events Calendar Category Colors. I have the new versions of the 4 plugins downloaded and ready to upload.
My concern: I don’t want to loose the settings/data on the calendar.
I assume the setting/data for Events Calendar all in the database.
I have the site backed up with Vaultpress.
I assume updating using FTP would be as follows:
Deactivate the 4 plugins.
Delete the 4 plugins using FTP.
Upload the 4 updated plugins into the plugins folder with FTP.
Activate the plugins.
Is this correct?
Using 2012 Theme by the way.

I have the site backed up with Vaultpress.The settings and event data should not be affected by this – but backing up as you have done is always a sensible precaution.

Activate the plugins.That should certainly do the trick.

Thanks Barry, the calendar is now updated and working great, as it was before updating.
The Events Calendar has nothing to do with my WP auto updates not working by the way. I have another site on the same server – without the Events Calendar – and it is having the exact same auto update issue.
