Making Events archive the homepage

Hi There,
Is there some best way of making the events archive (list.php) the homepage of the site. The closest I found was this post

Which works but this reverses the order of the events so March 2013 comes before Feb 2013.

I wonder how I should query this on the homepage

If Justin’s approach is something you’re comfortable with you could possibly modify it slightly by setting orderby parameters in addition to specifying custom post types.

The meta key you would probably be interested in for this would be _EventStartDate.
