GuestI am helping a friend fix their website. They previously purchased your Events Calendar PRO plugin and now need to update it. However they do not remember the login details for their account here and we have tried resetting the password with both emails they would have used, but the system does not recognize any of them as being valid.
How can we proceed in recovering her license information so that we can upgrade the plugin?
Thanks

KeymasterHi Lance,
I can try to help you out with this one.
I will need some information to be able to identify her account.
Can you share a purchase number, or part of the license key that you have, or any other information that you are willing to publicly share here that can help in the identification?
Cheers,

GuestHi Andras,
Part of the problem is that my friend has had several people help her over the years in building and updating the site. We are not sure who added this plugin and when it was done, so I do not have any purchase number or date. In fact now even the license key in the plugin settings is blank. I noticed on the settings screen it says that the plugin will work regardless of whether the license key has been added. Perhaps the original person who installed this never entered it.What started all of this is the site auto-updated last week and caused some problems with the Events Calendar plugin displaying properly. She asked me for help and I told her the first thing we need to do is update all of the plugins on the site and see if that fixes the problem.
Right now the only information I have is that version 4.4.3 of Events Calendar PRO is currently installed. The domain is Syinthesis.com.
I am not sure if you register the domain name when a plugin is purchased. Is that enough info to get find the original purchase?

KeymasterHi Lance,
When a license key is entered then the domain name will be registered with the license key. This can be changed, in case you move to a different domain of if you use a staging site.
Unfortunately however I wasn’t able to find any entries with that domain name. Might be that the license key was never entered.
Without any further details I’m afraid I’m not able to help you recover any information on this.
PRO version 4.4.3 was more than a year ago (Feb. 2017). It is very likely that the license has expired since then. For a plugin update the license would need to be renewed. It might make sense for your friend to purchase a new license and register an account with her name and email address.
I will still try to check one angle. My hunch is though that even if I find something, a license renewal will be required.

GuestThank you Andras,
I thought it might be that the license would have expired, but wanted to make sure before instructing her to purchase a new copy. I will wait to hear back from you before proceeding. Thanks for your help.July 12, 2018 at 12:49 am #1573281Andras
KeymasterHi Lance,
I checked with my colleague and try to find something connected to the domain name but we were unsuccessful.
At this moment the only thing I can recommend is setting up a new account and getting a new license.
Also, check your mailbox in a bit. 😉

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
