    Hi,

    Short: we are looking for a killer feature, but we have not found it yet

    Long:
    We’re running a starting wordpress/buddypress website for logged in members. All members are part of a worldwide community and interested in worldwide events on the subject that matters most for us: agile.

    Separate from our website there is a group of administrators that collects and publishes agile events using google calendar. http://www.hanoulle.be/2010/11/agile-conferences-calendar/ All events are organized by different parties, this is only a calendar showing an overview of all events with links to the websites of these organizing parties.

    We currently use a plugin to publish a copy of this calendar (on a public part of our site) at https://snowbirdcollaboratory.org/calendar/ .

    As an alternative, we could use The Events Calendar on our website with the event aggregator, or only use The Events Calendar when we convince the group of administrators using the google calendar to register the events directly into The Events Calendar.

    The Events Calendar offers lots of advantages, but we are looking for one killer feature that would really make using The Events Calendar a no brainer:

    Members of our website attend those events and want to know who else from the members of our website are going there.
    We are looking for a possibility to RSVP to those events (like you do on meetup.com).

    Just to be clear: the Agile 2017 conference in Orlando will attract some 2500 attendants, we want to only show the 20 members of our website that are going.

    Do you in any way support such a functionality?

    Best regards
    Harry Nieboer

    Hi Harry,

    Thanks for taking the time to reach out! If you’re looking to move your existing Google Calendar setup to your WordPress-based site and don’t need to maintain an RSVP record with Google itself, you can easily add RSVP functionality to The Events Calendar or Events Calendar PRO using our free Event Tickets plugin. You can then add on Event Tickets Plus to add functionality for a front-end attendees list, which will allow your visitors to see a list of who has registered for a given event right on the event page. You can learn more about this feature (as well as other options available during the ticket creation process) on our Knowledgebase here! Let me know if you should have any questions or concerns about how this feature might work for your setup! 🙂

    I hope that helps! Thanks again for stopping by, and please don’t hesitate to follow up if you should have any other questions!

    Hi Caroline,

    Thanks for you answer on my question.
    I looked into the documentation of The Events Calendar and this is what I found:

    1) ======
    Attendee list

    The attendee list is a consolidated list of all the ticket purchases that have been made and completed for a given event (including RSVPs). There are a couple of ways in which you can navigate to the screen. The first is to hover over an event, page, or post in your WordPress admin and click on the Attendees link:

    ======= 1)

    It seems as if the RSVP list is only visible on the backend. We would like to use the RSVP mechanism to make visible to our users who else is going to an event, so we would like this information on the front end.
    Probably I did not look enough into your documentation.

    Can you help me out?

    2) ======
    Note:If you are using only our free plugin Event Tickets (without Event Tickets Plus), you will not have any order confirmations- only attendee reports from your RSVPs.
    ========)

    This suggests that when you only want to \’sell through RSVP\’, the Event Tickets Plus functionality is not needed.

    Can you clarify this?

    Hi Harry,

    Thanks so much for following up–happy to provide a bit more clarification here! We do offer the ability to show bookings for a given event on the front end, though this functionality is only included as part of Event Tickets Plus. Therefore, even if your tickets do not require payment to reserve, Event Tickets Plus must still be installed alongside the free version of Event Tickets to add this feature. You can read more about the attendees list feature on our Knowledgebase here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-tickets/

    If you add tickets to an event, attendees who purchase tickets will have their gravatar displayed in a Who’s Attending feature on the event page.

    I hope that helps to shed a bit of light! 🙂 Thanks again, and let me know if you should have any other questions or concerns!

    Hi,

    I am also looking to change to a buddypress site (using the buddyboss theme) and would like to have the same functionality as Harry above. I currently use Modern Tribe Calendar Pro (& the Filter Bar plugin). I am confused now though as from reading another support thread, I didn’t think I could just ‘plugin’ all the plugins as they are – instead I would need to use ‘BuddyPress Events Calendar’ which integrates Modern Tribe’s Events Calendar plugin into BuddyPress. Is this correct? And if so, I’m wondering what calendar functionality I would actually have available to me?

    Thanks for helping to clarify this for me.

    Hi Jacquie,

    Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us here! We’re best equipped to provide support to users posting in separate threads, as posting on existing threads prevents topics from being timestamped properly and increases “noise” for all participants in a thread. Would you mind taking a moment to post a new thread in our pre-sales forum with the details of your inquiry? One of our team members will follow up right away to take your new thread and continue the conversation there! 🙂

    Thank you!

    Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
