GuestI can’t seem to figure out what the calendar’s feed is for a given category. The “+export month’s events” option is what I’m looking for, except not just for a singular month- I’d like to export a full category’s worth of events. This is the determining decision before we buy a multi-site license of this plugin. We have a mobile app that we feed the events into and need it for more than a month at a time! Thanks!

MemberHi Tara,
The RSS feed for a specific category follows this pattern:
[your-site]/events/category/[category-slug]/feed
Here is an example of a category feed:
http://wpshindig.com/events/category/tech-events/feed/
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff,
This URL doesn’t quite do the same thing as the feed that comes off the button; that feed looks like this:
http://vancouverps.staging.wpengine.com/events/?ical=1&tribe_display=monthWe need a feed that you can subscribe to, not just download. Thank you!

MemberHi Tara,
The feed follows the same URL format on your site. For example:
http://vancouverps.staging.wpengine.com/events/category/everyday/feed/
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff,
thanks for the follow up.
When we test the feed URL http://vancouverps.staging.wpengine.com/events/category/everyday/feed/, it works but not as desired; the items are displayed as if they are news items in our mobile app. We’d actually like it to load as a calendar item, which requires the iCal version of the feed: this url when tested works fine, but only pulls 1 month’s worth of events into our calendar: http://vancouverps.staging.wpengine.com/events/?ical=1&tribe_display=month. We want to pull the entire calendar category into the calendar through an iCal URL, does such a thing exist in the Tribe Calendar? We are ready to purchase the pro version for multisite but this is a major requirement of it to work for our needs. Thanks!January 13, 2016 at 7:56 am #1055307Geoff
MemberHi Tara,
The RSS feed uses the main calendar view as the basis for what is included in the feed. In this case, the site is set to Month View, so it will display the first ten events in the current month in the feed.
We have more information on RSS feeds here, including a tutorial on how to customize it further.
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff,
Thanks for your responses.
Unfortunately we figured out the plugin does NOT have the functionality of subscribing to an iCal and exporting a true iCal. We need this subscription basis so we can add iCal links to our mobile app. We can’t use the download model you’ve provided in the earlier examples we’ve been discussing because we have a LOT of calendars we need to display and doing this would cause a ton of extra work- having to update each of these regularly.I’ve added my vote to your feature request page for this feature… however it looks like it’s a top request and there’s no planned implementation for this. That is a major deal breaker for us.
Until this feature is available, we will be using something else. Thank you for your time.
