ParticipantWe have a client who has many people who create events. It works well for what they need, but we end up having 50+ of the same location. Every event for this website is located at the same location, so I was wondering if there is a way to default every new event to that location, or even disable/hide the location fields from the users creating the events. Many of the volunteers entering information are not as computer savvy as you or I, and this seems to be a constant fight to keep the duplicates out of the Venues.
I have discussed this with them to search for the location already, but it seems that isn’t a solution as they keep creating duplicates.

MemberHi,
Thanks for using our plugins. I can help out here.
We do not have a feature to do this as you ask.
However, we do have a guide to editing the event templates and you could use this to remove some of the fields for locations in your theme.
This is our themer’s guide:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
You can get started by looking at that and I could help answer a question or two about it.
Let me know.
Thanks

ParticipantThanks for the reply Brian. Removing the location in the theme isn’t going to remove it from the Admin Panel, which is where the people are creating hundreds of duplicate locations.
I can manually enter in the location via the Event template directly, which isn’t hard, but then if the users continue to duplicate locations the taxonomy for the locations is going to bloat up. Here’s a quick screenshot showing just how many times I’ve deleted duplicates.

I know it’s not really the fault of the plugin, I was just hoping there would have been a way to disable locations, or create a default. No huge issue that there isn’t, but I think a great setting would be for a Default Location to be set on a new Event creation. I’m sure there are thousands who use this plugin and have one location that they’re reusing.
