ParticipantI am having two locations showing up in the backend of the event. I have the correct event corrected and then there is a new one showing up and is preventing the location from showing up on the page for visitors to see. This also is happening ORGANIZERS section.

KeymasterHi Carl,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I hope you’re doing well
If you go to the venues and organizers lists do you get to see these duplicates/empty venues?
Are you importing the events from any service/website or these were created by you?
Thanks,
Juan.

ParticipantI do not see any duplicates in the sections Venues and Organizers.
So this is a dev site. I pulled on the events from the current live
site. I believe that have a different plugin that was importing them
from Facebook. I was just exported using the WordPress tool .Carl Busch

KeymasterHi Carl,
Thank you for the follow-up
Do you remember the plugin that was importing these events from facebook?
Would you please send me the export you got from the live site so I can try to replicate this issue locally?
Thank you,
Juan.

ParticipantNo idea what was used. I did not create the original website. Can I just give you access to my dev website?

ParticipantI can’t offer any insight, but I have exactly the same thing happening when I exports events from the live site to the dev site (I posted about it here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/no-venue-or-organizer-fields-when-exporting-events/). In each event there are two instances for both organizer and venue. Both are blank for each imported event, but when I try to delete one of the duplicates and populate the other with an existing venue/organizer the change cannot be saved — I update/save the event, exit that event, then when I return to that event the same two blank fields for organizer/venue are there.
In my case I think it’s related to that fact that exports do not contain either the venue or organizer fields for events, which I’m still investigating. So you might also want to check the export xml/csv files and see if those fields are missing.

MemberI do apologize for the delayed response, everyone.
Aaron: thanks for the note. Please do feel free to follow this conversation, but if you need assistance that is specific to your own site it would be best to create a new topic for that 🙂
@callahanmarketing: it certainly seems like a strange problem. How many events approximately are impacted? Is manually deleting the superfluous/blank venues an option?I’m assuming the problem isn’t impacting any newly created events, but if that’s incorrect let me know so we can try to figure out what is triggering the issue in the first place.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
