ParticipantI’m subscribed to Events Calendar, PRO, Filter Bar, and Community Events and I’ve noticed in testing the site that no matter what I enter in the location field (state abbreviation, state spelled out, city name, zip code), all events generate in the search results.. If the Filter Bar is necessary to reduce the results down to specified region, it would be helpful to have it up in the main search field, but maybe I’m doing something wrong..?

MemberHello,
Sorry for the issues you are having. Thanks for using out plugins.
The filter bar is not necessary for the location search, but javascript is.
I took a look at your site and seeing a couple errors in the console:
TypeError: $(…).carousel is not a function
It is coming from this file:
http://ridesandraces.com/wp-content/themes/gdvintage/elements/lib/js/elements.js?ver=4.0
Also getting this error:
You have included the Google Maps API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors.
See if fixing those two issues solves it.
Let me know what you find out.
Thanks

ParticipantThanks, I’m a newb so I’m going to have a friend help me with these errors. I’m curious to know if you can recommend a google map plugin that plays nice with the Venue section of this page http://www.ridesandraces.com/events (click on any event and scroll 2/3 the page). I’ve had a heck of a time finding a map plugin that reads the Venue address and automatically generates the map. This site will eventually hold info for events across the entire USA, so the thought of having to pin each individual map makes my head spin. 🙂 Thanks again.

MemberNot sure about any recommendations for another plugin that will work on the venue page. We already provide a map on each venue page so using that would be your best bet.
Although it is not formatted correctly here is where the maps show by default with the Venues:
http://wpshindig.com/venue/cruzio/
We also have a map view that shows upcoming Events by Venue here:
http://ridesandraces.com/events/map/
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks

ParticipantWait, you mean the map should be showing up automatically on each individual event page? If that’s the case then maybe the code conflicts you mentioned earlier are causing the map your app already provides to not show up. What do you think? (It’s great that people can click a link, but it’s not necessary for my particular need, I just want the map to show up on the page..)

MemberThey can both click a link to see the location in Google Maps and it actually shows a map in the Venue or Single Event Page. Per that link I sent you.
I would disable the other mapping plugin as that is certainly causing a conflict. Looks like the other error is preventing the maps from displaying as well.
This is what a Single Venue Page should look like by default:

A single Event should look something like this:
https://theeventscalendar.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/screenshot-3.png
You can see the maps in both.
I’d recommend visiting our New User Primer for The Events Calendar if you have not already done so. It goes over all the settings and views and shows you what your Events Calendar should look like.
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-pro-new-user-primer/
But first I would get the error fixed.
Thanks

ParticipantThanks for your help, Brian. Your instructions fixed the problem. One quick question. Because bike events rely very much on weather, I’m wondering if anyone at Modern Tribe has considered having a 5-day forecast included on the event page according to Venue Location…?

MemberGreat, glad it helps, I am going to go ahead and close this ticket, but if you need any other on something else please post a new ticket.
Also, that is an interesting idea about the 5 Day Forecast. You maybe to do that with a widget on your own.
If you would like to request that feature please head to our UserVoice Page and add your own or upvote that feature as they will increase the chances of it being added to a future version.

Thanks!
