    I installed updates to The Events Calendar (4.6.22) and The Events Calendar Pro (4.4.31) on Friday, August 24. Since that time, I’ve been told by an event contributor that the drop-down lists of Venues & Organizers are not appearing when they attempt to submit an event. Rather, they have to fill out all of the information for each. I checked this myself by logging in with a test account and found that it was true. I’ve attached a screenshot that shows the Venue section; the Organizer section looks similar.

    Furthermore, when I reviewed the contributor’s submission, the venue & organizer fields were blank, although they had entered the information manually during submission. I eventually found that their chosen Venue was listed as Pending in the Venues list.

    If I look at the event submission page while logged in as an admin, the drop-down menus do appear. There seems to be some sort of block in effect that is not allowing community contributors to select venues/organizers. I checked the settings, and the checkboxes that prevent the creation of new venues/organizers by community users are NOT checked, so this is not the cause of the problem. I am not a developer, so I am at a loss for what else to try.

    For now, I will be downloading the earlier versions of the two plugins in the hopes that this will correct the problem, but I would appreciate a fix for this issue being developed as soon as possible so that we can remain current with all of the Calendar plugins.

    Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this problem. I will try to help you get this sorted.

    This is actually a known bug that we just became aware of. I’ve created a bug ticket for the problem, and am attaching this thread to the ticket. As soon as this bug has been fixed, we will follow up with you here to let you know. In the meantime, a possible workaround is to re-save any venues or organizers you need so they show up under “mine” in the list. This may not be feasible if you have a lot of organizers or venues and need to add a lot of new events, but it may help in some cases until we can get a fix pushed out. You can also try downgrading to the previous version of the Events Calendar.
