Link Events Calendar to existing groups?

Hi guys. I’m interested in adding Events Calendar to our site and purchasing the Facebook integration option too, subject to one thing being possible. We already have a custom post type called ‘Groups’ with ~125 entries. This is quite a central part of how our site operates. I need to know whether the Events Calendar plugin can connect to this custom post type and use these groups instead of ‘organizers’? Ideally the ‘organizer’ link in an event would go through to the relevant group’s page.

Shipping the existing Groups post type to Organizers isn’t a viable solution unfortunately as various other parts of the site rely on Groups, as mentioned previously.

Thanks for thinking of our plugins for your project! This is a great question, and your project seems super cool! 🙂

So, the short answer, is that no, this isn’t a built-in option, but yes it is possible if you’re working with a developer who can make these kinds of customizations. The best advice I can give for knowing what you’d be getting into here, is to take a look at George’s response in this thread.

As I mentioned, this kind of request would require some customization. We have some resources for doing that here. If you need to find someone to help with the customizations, we also have some tips for finding help here.
