if i have several instances of subdomains on the same domain, do i need to purchase a license for each one?

is it possible to change the domain that the license is licensed to? for example. I may use a domain for a month to show content for a certain project – when that project ends – i will delete that site and start another project based that will be live for a month or 2 with a new name.

    Hey Wendy,

    Thanks for reaching out!

In regards to your first question about subdomains, this depends – is each one a separate site? Or a sub-site on a Multisite WordPress installation? If so, and each subdomain is really its own freestanding site, then a Multisite License would be the ideal/recommended license option.

As for your second question, yes, this is fine 🙂 You can disconnect a license by going to http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/license-keys – once you disconnect the license from one domain, you could then activate that license on another domain successfully.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers,

To answer your question. i am not using multi-site. each subdomain is actually a separate project site BUT there is only ever 1 project at a time – so i would be deleting one and creating another – always with only 1 instance of the plugin in use at any time.

That’s fine Wendy, thank you for clarifying and for double-checking about this.

Proceed with the licenses and use them as you describe here – if there’s an issue where, for example, you post support requests for each separate project site that comes up, then we may need to require a higher-tier license. But that is very unlikely, and as long as this doesn’t happen you can use the Personal License for this just fine 🙂

I’ll close up this thread for now and wish you the best of luck with our software and your projects; cheers!
